College of Music Complex
When one of the world's preeminent music colleges decided to upgrade the audio systems in its classrooms, music labs and studios, it was fitting that the audio staff immediately looked to the world's preeminent loudspeaker manufacturer to provide the solution. Berklee College of Music in Boston recently completed the installation of sixty JBL EON loudspeakers from JBL Professional in the school's brand-new Genko Uchida Building.
The new Uchida Building features 27 individual ensemble rooms and music lab facilities within it, each used for various classes and student rehearsals. According to Sandro Scoccia, the college's Performance Technology Coordinator, each facility is equipped with a full hi-fidelity audio cabinet and JBL EON speaker systems.
Scoccia said that the decision to select the JBL EON became clearly evident early in the selection process. "Once we knew the specifications we wanted, we tested the EONs extensively against another speaker system with similar specs," Scoccia explained. "When we heard the EONs, it was obvious that they were far superior, in terms of sound, durability and aesthetics. The ability to distinguish between the highs and the lows was far clearer with the EONs than with the competing product."
The revolutionary EON product line, which has been creating a portable sound revolution around the world since its debut at the 1995 Winter NAMM Show, was expanded last year to meet the needs of a wider segment of portable sound reinforcement customers. The subsequent result is that EON is now the hottest selling line of portable sound systems in the MI market.
